An Auburn attorney is launching an independent campaign to challenge Republican U.S. Representative Claudia Tenney in New York’s 24th Congressional District.
In announcing his candidacy, Todd Sloan said he plans to run on a newly created “Upstate” independent ballot line. He will begin circulating petitions in April to secure a place on the ballot.
Although Sloan does not currently reside within the district, he says he has strong ties to the region. He owns property within the 24th District, and his sons were born in Canandaigua, part of the Finger Lakes area that makes up much of the district.
