The Yates County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 20-year-old Tennessee man following a Grand Jury indictment and an investigation into the exploitation of a minor.
Tyler Castner, of Ooltewah, Tennessee, was taken into custody on a Superior Court Warrant. He faces two counts of Dissemination of Indecent Material to a Minor in the First Degree, a class D felony; seven counts of Use of a Child in a Sexual Performance, a class C felony; and seven counts of Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child, a class D felony.
The arrest follows an investigation revealing that Castner allegedly used electronic devices to communicate with a minor residing in Yates County. During these communications, it is alleged that Castner enticed the minor to engage in a sexually explicit manner on multiple occasions.
Castner was originally taken into custody by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office in Tennessee before being extradited by the Yates County Sheriff’s Office. He was arraigned in Yates County Supreme Court and was sent to the Yates County Jail in lieu of bail.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
