Schools in the Clyde-Savannah Central School District were placed on lockout Monday following an off-campus incident involving a reported suicidal individual.

According to the Finger Lakes Times, Superintendent Mike Hayden said the district initiated the lockout at the request of law enforcement. During the lockout, all exterior doors were secured and entry and exit were restricted, while classes and normal operations continued inside.

The district also canceled after-school activities and limited access to school facilities.

Officials said there was no direct threat made to students or staff.

Wayne County Sheriff Rob Milby confirmed to the Times that the situation involved a suicidal person and was handled by the New York State Police. Additional details about the incident have not been released.

School officials said they remained in communication with law enforcement throughout the situation and monitored any potential impact on dismissal procedures.
