The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office has added two new members to its ranks.
In a social media post, the department announced that Shawn Walter and Christian Testa were sworn in Monday as deputy sheriffs. The ceremony was administered by Kristine Lytle, Cayuga County clerk.
Both Walter and Testa have been assigned to the Sheriff’s Office Custody Division, where they will be responsible for overseeing inmates and maintaining security at the county jail.
The department welcomed the new deputies in its announcement and wished them well as they begin their careers in law enforcement.
