On Friday, the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Scipio woman following a report of an unconscious driver in the Town of Venice.
Deputies and Southern Cayuga Ambulance were dispatched to the intersection of Indian Field Road and Cook Road around 1:55 p.m. for a report of a vehicle stopped in the roadway. Upon arrival, authorities located Brianna Rosekrans, 26, appearing unconscious in the driver’s seat. Rosekrans, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was evaluated by medical personnel but required no treatment.
An investigation established probable cause to take Rosekrans into custody. At the Sheriff’s Office, she allegedly provided a breath sample revealing a .25% blood alcohol content.
Rosekrans was charged with Driving While Intoxicated (First Offense), Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, and other Vehicle and Traffic Violations. She was issued appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Venice Court on April 6.
Assisting at the scene was Southern Cayuga Ambulance.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
