SHARE NOW

On Monday, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Clyde man following an investigation into a domestic incident in the Town of Lyons.

Deputies arrested David Furman, 65, of State Route 414, around 3:57 p.m. It is alleged that Furman struck another person with a closed fist, causing physical injury. He is further accused of taking the victim’s phone to prevent them from contacting 911 for emergency assistance.

Furman was charged with Assault in the Third Degree and Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree. He was transported to the Wayne County Jail to await centralized arraignment and will appear in the Town of Lyons Court at a later date to answer the charges.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
