On Friday, Ontario County Sheriff’s investigators arrested a Canandaigua man following an investigation into multiple violations of an order of protection at the Ontario County Jail in the Town of Hopewell.

Juan Carlos Reyes-Rodriquez, 27, was taken into custody without incident at approximately 8:07 p.m. Investigators determined that while incarcerated at the facility, Reyes-Rodriquez allegedly used several different inmate telephone accounts to call a protected party on twelve separate occasions.

Because Reyes-Rodriquez has a prior conviction for a qualifying offense within the past five years, he was charged with twelve counts of Aggravated Family Offense, a Class E felony. Reyes-Rodriquez remained at the Ontario County Jail to await arraignment in CAP Court.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
