On Saturday, Joseph Stratton was arrested following an investigation in the Town of Italy.
The 42-year-old Branchport resident is accused of stealing another person’s prescribed medication and replacing it with over-the-counter medication without the victim’s knowledge. Stratton was charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Petit Larceny.
Following his arrest, Stratton was released on an appearance ticket. He is scheduled to answer the charges in the Town of Italy Court at a later date.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
