The Keuka College softball team opened its 2026 season with a split of two games Sunday during its spring trip to Florida.

The Wolves fell to UMass-Dartmouth 9-1 in their first game of the day before bouncing back with a 2-1 win over the University of Maine at Farmington. The second game was called in the sixth inning due to severe thunderstorms.

In the opener, Keuka struck first. Olivia Flynn led off the game with a deep fly ball to right field that was dropped, allowing her to reach third base. Flynn later scored on an RBI double by Hailey Jasinski to give the Wolves an early 1-0 lead.

UMass-Dartmouth responded quickly, scoring five runs in the bottom of the first inning to take control of the game. The Corsairs added runs in each inning after that, defeating the Wolves 9-1 in a game shortened to five innings.

Katie Landers and Alexis Kopetchny each recorded hits for Keuka in the loss. The game also marked the 100th of Olivia Flynn’s collegiate career.

Keuka bounced back in game two behind a strong pitching performance from Flynn, who started in the circle and struck out three batters over the first two innings. Despite collecting three early hits, the Wolves were unable to score through the first two innings.

Keuka threatened in the third when Flynn doubled and later advanced to third on Landers’ second hit of the game. However, Flynn was thrown out at the plate on a potential sacrifice fly, and UMaine-Farmington escaped the inning.

The Beavers took a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth inning.

The Wolves answered in the bottom half of the inning. Grace Eagen doubled down the left-field line and moved to third on a single by Lindsay Stuck. Giana Mruczek then laid down a bunt that allowed Eagen to score the tying run. Later in the inning, Kopetchny delivered a single up the middle to drive in Stuck and give Keuka a 2-1 lead.

UMaine-Farmington threatened in the fifth inning, but Flynn recorded her fifth strikeout to end the frame. Severe storms moved into the area shortly after, and the game was called in the sixth inning, securing the victory for the Wolves.

Flynn earned the win in the circle, pitching 5.2 innings while allowing just three hits and one run. She also struck out six batters.

At the plate in the win, Eagen, Landers, and Kopetchny each recorded two hits.

Flynn also set a program record during the game, as her double against UMaine-Farmington was the 30th of her career — the most in Keuka College softball history.

Sunday’s games marked the first time Keuka has faced both UMass-Dartmouth and UMaine-Farmington in program history.

The Wolves will continue their spring trip Monday with two more games in Florida. Keuka will first face SUNY Plattsburgh in Clermont before closing the day against Meredith College of North Carolina, another first-time opponent for the program.
