Geneva Police arrested a 33-year-old Canandaigua man for felony driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop on South Main Street.
Shaun Donahue was charged with felony Driving While Intoxicated and Inadequate Tail Lamp. Officers initially stopped Donahue for an equipment violation, but during the investigation, they determined he was operating the motor vehicle while intoxicated.
A review of Donahue’s driving record revealed he had two prior convictions for driving while intoxicated within the last ten years, resulting in the felony-level charge. Authorities noted that Donahue is currently on probation and has an unresolved arrest for driving while intoxicated from an incident in the Town of Hopewell on February 9, 2025.
Donahue was taken into custody and processed on the charges.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
