A North Rose-Wolcott High School senior has been recognized for her leadership, academics, and service to her school and community.
Mikenzie Shear has been named the North Rose-Wolcott Central School District’s 2026 recipient of the Wayne-Finger Lakes Superintendent Award. She was honored during an awards ceremony held on March 5 at Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES in Newark.
The Superintendent Award recognizes students who demonstrate strong academic achievement and leadership. To qualify, students must have a grade point average of 80 or higher at the end of their junior year.
Recipients are also selected based on qualities such as honesty, compassion, perseverance, responsibility, kindness, resilience, and industriousness, along with their history of service to their schools, families, and communities.
Students nominated for the award must also complete an application and submit an essay as part of the selection process.
