SHARE NOW

Brave participants will soon take a dip into the icy waters of Canandaigua Lake as the annual Canandaigua Polar Plunge returns this weekend to benefit Special Olympics New York.

The event is scheduled for Sunday at Kershaw Park, where participants from across New York State will gather to raise money and awareness for Special Olympics New York athletes in the Genesee Region.

The Polar Plunge is one of the organization’s most popular and successful fundraising events. Participants collect donations from friends, family members, coworkers, and others before taking the plunge into the cold lake water.

Over the years, the Canandaigua community has raised more than $250,000 through the event.

Registration for this year’s plunge begins at 10 a.m., with participants entering the water at noon.

Event Details:

  • Date: Sunday, March 15, 2026
  • Registration: 10 a.m.
  • Polar Plunge: Noon
  • Location: Kershaw Park, 155 Lakeshore Drive, Canandaigua
