The New York State Higher Education Services Corporation (HESC) will host the first-ever New York State College Access Conference on Thursday
This landmark event brings together financial aid professionals, guidance counselors, college access advocates, and higher education leaders to advance efforts to expand college opportunity across the state. The conference highlights New York’s ongoing commitment to making higher education more accessible and affordable for all students.
Attendees can participate in a full day of interactive workshops and strategy sessions covering topics such as FAFSA and TAP completion, support for nontraditional students, and strengthening pathways to postsecondary success. These sessions are designed to provide practical tools and strategies for educators and administrators working to remove barriers to college.
The conference on Thursday, which runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Albany Capital Center in Albany, will feature a keynote address by bestselling author and education expert Harlan Cohen, along with an Awards Luncheon recognizing individuals and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to college access and affordability.
The 2026 New York State College Access Conference is presented in partnership with the State University of New York (SUNY), City University of New York (CUNY), New York State Education Department, Association of Private Colleges of New York State, and the Commission on Independent Colleges and Universities.
