A fire destroyed a trailer behind a local pizza shop on Monday afternoon in the town of Canandaigua.
According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and firefighters were called to Perri’s Pizza on State Route 332 at approximately 2:40 p.m. for the report of a trailer fire.
When first responders arrived, the trailer was already fully engulfed in flames. Crews from the Canandaigua Fire Department worked to bring the fire under control and successfully extinguished it.
Authorities say the trailer sustained severe damage, along with the equipment stored inside. Minor damage was also sustained to the exterior of Perri’s Pizza and a bystander’s car. Firefighters remained on scene for a period of time after the flames were knocked down to monitor the trailer and ensure the fire did not rekindle.
Investigators say the fire originated inside the trailer and was caused by a mechanical issue.
No injuries were reported.
