A teenager was seriously injured Saturday afternoon in a crash involving a dirt bike and a motor vehicle in downtown Auburn.
According to reporting by The Citizen, the crash happened around 2 p.m. at the intersection of Genesee and William streets.
New York State Police told the newspaper the dirt bike rider suffered a fractured pelvis but is expected to recover. Authorities also said rumors circulating on social media claiming the rider had died or would die are false.
State police said the injured rider is a 16-year-old from Skaneateles. The crash remains under investigation, and additional details are expected to be released at a later date.
