SHARE NOW

An officer with the Village of Bath Police Department conducted a traffic stop on East Washington Street following an observed violation of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.

The operator of the vehicle, Joshua Bollinger, 33, of Avoca, exhibited multiple signs of impairment. Investigators determined that Bollinger was operating the vehicle while impaired with a 1.5-year-old child as a passenger.

Bollinger was arrested and charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated: With Child Passenger Less Than 15 Years Old, a class E felony; Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, a class E felony; Consuming Cannabis in a Motor Vehicle; and Failure to Signal Prior to 100 Feet of a Turn.

Bollinger was processed and transported to the Steuben County Jail for centralized arraignment, where he was subsequently released.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
