On Sunday, the Geneva Police Department arrested a local man on multiple charges following a police interaction on William Street.
Dion Crawley, 57, was taken into custody after officers determined he had an active bench warrant issued by the City of Geneva Criminal Court for failing to appear in court regarding the original charges.
During a search incident to the arrest, officers allegedly located cocaine in Crawley’s possession. In addition to the warrant, he was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree.
Crawley was processed and held for arraignment.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
