State Sen. Pam Helming has been honored with the Farmer’s Voice Award from the New York Farm Bureau for her support of farmers and agriculture across the state.
The award was presented in Albany and recognizes state legislators who demonstrate consistent leadership on issues important to the agricultural community.
Farm Bureau officials cited Helming’s voting record and advocacy for policies that support family farms, strengthen rural economies, and protect the future of agriculture in New York.
“Senator Helming has proven through her voting record that she is committed to supporting New York farmers,” said Amanda Krenning-Muoio, manager of Livingston, Wayne, and Monroe County Farm Bureau Relations and Development. “We commend her for her work to protect the interests of farmers and agribusinesses across the state.”
Mark James, manager of Ontario County Farm Bureau Relations and Development, said county farm bureaus in Helming’s district unanimously agreed she deserved the honor.
“The County Farm Bureaus reviewed her excellent voting record and determined she is deserving of this award,” James said. “We look forward to continuing to work with Senator Helming.”
Supporters say Helming has been a strong advocate for reducing regulatory burdens, promoting farmland protection, and helping family farms remain sustainable for future generations.
“I am deeply honored to receive the Farmer’s Voice Award,” Helming said in a statement. “Agriculture is the backbone of our local economy and a way of life that sustains our communities. I will continue to stand with our farmers and work to ensure their voices are heard.”
The New York Farm Bureau represents thousands of farm families statewide and works to promote public policies that strengthen agriculture and rural communities.
