On Wednesday, deputies from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Town of Sodus woman following a months-long investigation into school attendance.
Amanda Dorsch, 38, was taken into custody on the morning of March 4 at her residence. She is accused of two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child. The investigation, which began in September 2025, alleges that two of Dorsch’s children were absent from school for more than 60 days between September 2025 and February 2026.
Dorsch was transported to the Wayne County Jail to await centralized arraignment.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
