On Friday, the Macedon Police Department arrested a 38-year-old Macedon man following a special investigation into his sex offender registry status.
Paul Valentine allegedly failed to verify his address with the New York State Department of Criminal Justice Services as required by Correction Law on January 9th. At approximately 10:45 a.m., authorities arrested Valentine at the Wayne County Jail, where he is currently serving a six-month sentence on an unrelated matter.
Valentine was processed and charged with Failure to Report a Change of Address or Status within Ten Days, a felony under New York State Correction Law.
Valentine remains held at the Wayne County Jail for the duration of his current sentence and will appear in court at a future date to answer the new charge.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
