Cayuga County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Sennet man following a domestic dispute on Tuesday.
According to Sheriff Brian Schenck, deputies arrived at a residence in the town just after 10:30a for a domestic dispute. An investigation determined that 40-year-old Brandon Murphy had unwanted physical contact with the victim while making a threatening statement, causing her to fear for her life and safety.
Murphy was arrested and arraigned. A full order of protection was also issued.
Murphy was released and is scheduled to appear in Sennett Town Court on March 11.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
