The City of Ithaca is inviting residents to apply to serve on its Community Police Board, a citizen advisory group that helps foster positive communication between the Police Department and the community.
The board acts as a liaison to the Police Department, providing a forum to ask questions, share ideas, and represent the perspectives of neighbors from all segments of the city.
Members attend monthly meetings on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 4:30 p.m., listen to community concerns, and work directly with police officials. Commissioners are selected from culturally and economically diverse backgrounds, and the city strongly encourages applications from residents with varied perspectives and lived experiences.
Residents interested in joining the Community Police Board can apply here. More information is available on the city’s website.
