The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of a driver who died following a rollover crash early Sunday in the Town of Victory.
Authorities say Jack Kent, 20-year-old of Victory, was killed after being ejected from an SUV that crashed on Coolican Road near Kasson Way around 3:30 a.m.
According to deputies, the vehicle was traveling north when it went off the east side of the roadway and rolled over. Kent was taken to Upstate University Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The lone passenger, Darien Horn, 22-year-old of Sterling, was evaluated at the scene for minor injuries.
Undersheriff Stuart Peenstra said the crash remains under investigation, according to a Syracuse.com report.
Multiple agencies assisted at the scene, including the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, New York State Police, Red Creek Fire Department, Fair Haven Fire Department, and Lakeshore Ambulance.
