A teen has been arrested after allegedly threatening mass harm to a Seneca County school.

Seneca County Sheriff Tim Thompson reports the 15-year-old girl was arrested on Tuesday after an investigation revealed she “posted a threat of mass harm to a school in Seneca County.” Working with the Seneca Falls and Waterloo Police Departments, the teen was located, and it was determined that there were no active threats to students or faculty. While the investigation was underway, the Waterloo Central School District was placed in a brief lockdown.

She was arrested and charged with Making a Threat of Mass Harm, and is scheduled to appear in the Seneca County Probation Department at a later date.

Due to the teen’s age, her identity is not being disclosed.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
