Deputies from the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 23-year-old Genoa man following a warrant execution on Route 90.
Deputies responded to a residence in the Town of Genoa to assist parole officers already on the scene. Upon arrival, deputies were informed that parole officers had taken Andrew Hulslander into custody on a warrant. During a subsequent search, officers located a small bag containing a white crystallized substance.
Following a field test by deputies, the substance yielded a positive result for methamphetamine, weighing approximately .9 grams. Hulslander was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree.
Hulslander was issued an appearance ticket for the drug charge and was subsequently transported to the Cayuga County Jail on the outstanding parole warrant.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
