Locke Woman Accused Of Violating Protective Order While in Jail

SHARE NOW

On Friday, members of the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office arrested Shantel Yaw of Locke following an investigation into the violation of a court-issued protective order.

The 57-year-old was charged with Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor. Authorities opened an investigation in January into allegations that, while incarcerated at the Cayuga County Jail, Yaw allegedly attempted to contact a protected party in violation of a full stay-away order of protection.

Based on the evidence gathered, Yaw was processed and arraigned at the Centralized Arraignment Part (CAP) Court. She is currently being held at the Cayuga County Jail.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
