Brave Women Week Returns to the Finger Lakes

SHARE NOW

A weeklong celebration of women’s history, creativity, and entrepreneurship returns to the Finger Lakes March 1–8 as Cayuga County will once again host “Brave Women Week” in celebration of women’s history month.

The annual celebration invites residents and visitors to take part in a week of themed events, exhibits, tours, and shopping specials honoring women who helped shape the region’s past and present.

Organizers say the week highlights the Finger Lakes’ deep ties to the women’s rights and suffrage movement while encouraging support for today’s women-owned businesses and artists.

Visitors can explore historic destinations connected to social reform and activism, including the Equal Rights Heritage Center and the Seward House Museum, and learn more about figures such as Harriet Tubman, Emily Howland, and Frances Seward.

Organizers are encouraging the public to review the full schedule and plan ahead through official event listings and the county’s Brave Women FLX online hub.

Several local businesses are also participating in the celebration, including Lunkenheimer Craft Brewing Co., which will host “The She Sessions,” a month-long live music series in March featuring female performers and community-focused events in recognition of Women’s History Month.
