Keuka College men’s basketball senior Lamar Lovelace (Rochester, N.Y. / Northeast College Prep) continued his record-setting season for the Wolves by being named Empire 8 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the third time this season.

Lovelace averaged 34 points per game this week as the Wolves closed the regular season and opened the postseason with victories. He posted 36 points and six assists in a road win over Elmira College on Tuesday to close the regular season. Lovelace then recorded his second double-double of the year with 32 points and 11 rebounds as the Wolves topped Nazareth University in the quarterfinals of the Empire 8 Tournament.

During Saturday’s game at Nazareth, Lovelace set a new single-season scoring record at Keuka College. He currently has 564 points on the season, which leads the Empire 8 Conference and ranks 19th nationally in Division III.

With the win over Nazareth, Lovelace and the Wolves advanced to the semifinals of the Empire 8 Tournament for the first time in program history. Keuka College will play at third-ranked SUNY Geneseo on Wednesday night.
