On February 15, at approximately 2:06 AM, deputies from the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office arrested Joseph Thurston, 39, of Scipio, following a domestic incident.
The arrest stems from a report on February 14 at approximately 11:42 PM, when deputies were dispatched to a residence in the Town of Scipio. During the investigation, authorities determined that Thurston allegedly damaged multiple items in the home that did not belong to him.
Thurston was charged with one count of Criminal Mischief in the fourth degree. He was taken into custody and transported to the Public Safety Building for processing and Centralized Arraignment.
Thurston was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in Scipio Town Court on February 23.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
