On Thursday, Ontario County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted a traffic stop on State Route 332 in the Town of Canandaigua for multiple vehicle and traffic violations.
During the roadside investigation, deputies identified the front-seat passenger as Natasha Murphy, 34, of Newark. Further investigation revealed that Murphy was allegedly in possession of cocaine.
Murphy was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree. She was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Canandaigua Town Court at a later date to answer the charge.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
