On Thursday, members of the Auburn Police Department arrested Charles Williams after a reported violation of an order of protection on Hoffman Street.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers confirmed that a full stay-away order of protection was in place between Williams and the protected party. Police located Williams inside the residence with the protected individual and detained him without incident.
Williams was transported to the Auburn Police Department headquarters and charged with Aggravated Family Offense, a felony, and Criminal Contempt in the second degree, a misdemeanor.
Following processing, Williams was transported to the Cayuga County Jail for Centralized Arraignment.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
