Auburn Man Arrested for Criminal Impersonation

SHARE NOW

On Wednesday, deputies arrested Bradley Beams, 70, of Auburn, following a traffic stop on State Route 318 in the Town of Tyre.

Beams was charged with Criminal Impersonation in the Second Degree, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the Second Degree (previous alcohol conviction), and Circumvention of an Interlock Device. The arrest occurred around 4:25 p.m. after deputies initially stopped the vehicle for an expired registration.

During the roadside investigation, Beams allegedly identified himself as another person in an intentional attempt to conceal his identity. Deputies eventually identified the driver as Beams and discovered he was operating the vehicle with a revoked New York State driver’s license. Investigators also determined the vehicle was not equipped with a required ignition interlock device.

Beams was transported to the Seneca County Correctional Facility for processing. He was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to answer the charges in Tyre Town Court at a later date.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
