Hornell’s Railhead Brewing to End Operations Later This Month

SHARE NOW

Afer nearly 12 years in business, a longtime fixture in Hornell’s craft beer scene is preparing to close its doors at the end of the month.

Owners of Railhead Brewing Company Dave Woolever and Michael McCumiskey announced the shutdown in a Facebook post this week, thanking the community for more than a decade of support.

The restaurant and brewery, located at 40 Park Drive in Hornell, will serve customers for the final time on Feb. 27.

In their announcement, the owners said they have sold the business and suggested “new beginnings” are ahead under new ownership. No additional details about future plans for the location have been released.

Railhead Brewing also plans to hold a brewery equipment sale on Feb. 20 and 21 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Since opening, the business has built a loyal following for its in-house craft beers and wood-fired pizzas, becoming a popular gathering spot for residents and visitors.

More information about the transition may be announced in the coming weeks.
