On Sunday, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Williamson woman following reports of a violent disturbance at a local restaurant.
Deputies responded to the McDonalds in Williamson after receiving calls that a female was allegedly beating a child and punching other patrons. Following the incident, the suspect fled the scene on foot. Patrol officers eventually located Tamila Kemp, 33, in the parking lot of the public library.
Kemp is charged with Criminal Contempt in the First Degree, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and Harassment in the Second Degree.
Kemp was transported to the Wayne County Jail for processing and to await centralized arraignment.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
