A driver who was involved in a hit-and-run accident that seriously injured a pedestrian in Skaneateles earlier this month has been arrested.
State Police say the crash happened around 5 p.m. on February 7th on Mottville Road when a 45-year-old man was using a snow blower in a driveway when he was hit by a pickup truck that kept going. The victim remains hospitalized with serious internal injuries.
Investigators identified the truck as a green 2006 Chevy Silverado with a yellow plow and black bed cap. It was found five days later at the home of 31-year-old Mitchell Collins in Marcellus.
Collins was charged with leaving the scene of a crash causing serious injury, a felony, and aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
