On Thursday, Eric Jackson, of Bath, turned himself in to authorities following a road rage investigation involving an Amazon delivery vehicle.
The incident occurred on January 28, on Haverling Street in the Village of Bath. According to police, an Amazon driver reported that Jackson stopped his vehicle in the middle of the road and approached the delivery van. Jackson allegedly became irate and damaged the hood of the van, which is owned by a private company. Police stated the damage to the vehicle exceeded $1,500.
Officers identified Jackson as the suspect after reviewing the dash cam footage provided by Amazon. Jackson was charged with Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree, which is a class D felony.
Following his arrest, Jackson was processed and transported to the Steuben County Jail for centralized arraignment.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
