Cayuga Co. Health Dept. Highlighting Yellow Dot Program

SHARE NOW

The Cayuga County Health Department is highlighting a program that could save lives.

The department is reminding residents of the Yellow Dot Program. Under the free program, a yellow dot decal is placed on either the driver’s side rear window of a vehicle or on the front door of a home; a card containing medical information is also stored in either the glove box or the freezer. If an emergency occurs, and first responders see the dot, they know exactly where to look to find the vital information.

Yellow Dot kits contain two personal information cards and decals, one for the home and one for the vehicle. People using the program are asked to fill out both sides of the card in pencil and attach a photo of themselves to it. Cards being placed in freezers should be put in a clear plastic freezer bag first.

Yellow Dot kits are available by emailing [email protected] or through the county’s Healthy Neighborhoods Program.
