Greece Man Charged After Drugs Found During DWI Stop

SHARE NOW

A Town of Greece man has been charged following laboratory testing of suspected narcotics found during a previous DWI investigation in Wayne County.

Deputies arrested 76-year-old Michael Vigelette of Greece after test results confirmed the presence of cocaine, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation stems from a prior DWI arrest in the Town of Galen on February 9 at about 4:14 p.m. Deputies say Vigelette was determined to be operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated during that incident.

During the investigation, deputies allegedly found two baggies containing a white, rock-like substance. Laboratory testing later confirmed the substance was cocaine.

As a result, Vigelette was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree.

He was processed at the Wayne County Jail and released with an appearance ticket. He is scheduled to appear in Town of Galen Court at a later date.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
