A Rochester woman has been sentenced to 12 months in prison for unlawfully entering a secure area of the Greater Rochester International Airport.
U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo announced that 40-year-old Takesha Rogers was sentenced by U.S. Magistrate Judge Colleen D. Holland after being convicted of entering an airport area in violation of security requirements.
According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Meghan K. McGuire, who prosecuted the case, the incident occurred on November 27, 2024, shortly after 11:30 p.m. Prosecutors said Rogers climbed over the airport’s perimeter fence and entered the secured Aircraft Operations Area, commonly known as the tarmac.
Authorities said Rogers willfully entered the restricted area in violation of established airport security measures.
The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, under the direction of Special Agent-in-Charge Philip Tejera, along with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, led by Sheriff Todd Baxter.
