Cayuga County Sheriff Brian Schenck reports that deputies arrested a local man following a domestic violence incident in the Town of Aurelius.
50-year-old Thomas Michlovitch, of Auburn, was charged with criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, a misdemeanor, after deputies responded to a reported altercation in a parking lot outside a department store on Clark Street Road on February 4.
Police say the female victim reported that Michlovitch had wrapped his arm around her neck and applied pressure during an argument. Michlovitch later turned himself in at the Public Safety Building, where he was processed and transported to the Cayuga County Jail for CAP arraignment.
He was held on $10,000 cash or $20,000 insured bond and is scheduled to appear in Aurelius Town Court on February 11 at 7:00 p.m.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
