The National Susan B. Anthony Museum & House has announced plans for its 2026 Susan B. Anthony Birthday Celebration, themed “Get on with the Work.” The annual event on Wednesday will mark the 206th anniversary of Susan B. Anthony’s birth while also celebrating 80 years of preserving her legacy at the historic site at 17 Madison Street in Rochester.
The milestone celebration will also recognize the leadership of Deborah L. Hughes, who has served as President and CEO of the museum for more than 18 years. Hughes is credited with helping transform the organization into a nationally recognized center for history, activism, and civic dialogue. She will deliver remarks during the program and be honored for her lasting impact on the institution.
The evening will also welcome incoming President and CEO Allison Hinman. Hinman has served as the museum’s Chief Operating Officer for the past five years and will be highlighted as she prepares to lead the organization into its next chapter, with a focus on continued growth and community engagement.
The program will feature a special performance by guest speaker Danyel Fulton, who will appear as Ida B. Wells, the pioneering journalist, anti-lynching crusader, and suffrage leader, as portrayed in the Tony Award-winning musical *SUFFS*. Attendees will enjoy dinner and live performance as part of the celebration.
In addition to honoring Susan B. Anthony’s birthday, the event will highlight the museum’s 80-year presence at its historic location, a leadership transition, and updates on campus expansion efforts. Organizers say the celebration reflects Susan B. Anthony’s enduring legacy and the museum’s ongoing commitment to advancing equality, justice, and liberty.
The celebration will take place Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at the Joseph A. Floreano Rochester Riverside Convention Center, located at 123 East Main Street in Rochester. Doors open at 5:00 p.m., with the dinner program beginning at 6:00 p.m.
