McCarron Picks Up New Endorsements in Senate Bid

Republican State Senate candidate Rich McCarron has picked up two new endorsements in his bid for the 48th District seat, receiving backing this week from the Cayuga County Conservatives and the Onondaga County Republicans.

McCarron was endorsed by the Cayuga County Conservatives Saturday morning in Auburn and later received the support of the Onondaga County Republican Committee at an afternoon gathering in Cicero.

In a statement, both committees cited McCarron’s focus on what they described as “common sense” governance and his criticism of one-party control in Albany. McCarron has highlighted concerns about rising costs of living, growth in the state budget, and the need for changes to state energy policy.

The latest endorsements add to support McCarron has already received from the Cayuga County Republican Committee and the Onondaga County Conservative Party earlier this year.

McCarron is a Realtor and small business owner and currently serves as the Onondaga County Legislator for the 11th District.

The 48th State Senate District includes the city of Syracuse, all of Cayuga County, and several southern and western towns in Onondaga County, including Skaneateles, Marcellus, Lysander, and Pompey. The seat is currently held by Democrat Rachel May.
