A Canandaigua woman has been charged following a reported theft at a local motel earlier this week.
Ontario County deputies say they responded on Thursday to the Woodridge Motel on County Road 50 in the Town of Canandaigua for a larceny complaint that had occurred on February 2. The complainant reported that a $70 SIM card had been removed from his cell phone and suspected it had been taken by 39-year-old Chasity Schorpp.
Following an investigation, deputies took Schorpp into custody and charged her with petit larceny.
She was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Canandaigua Town Court at a later date.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
