New technology to take the guesswork out of exercising has made its way to the Auburn YMCA.
The YMCA announced that EGYM is now at the Y, making it the only location in Auburn to offer the technology.
The Y said EGYM sees users receive a smart band that interacts with smart circuit machines that will automatically adjust to custom settings for weight, range of motion, and cardiovascular exercise to give users a “full-body workout in as little as 20 minutes.”
Speaking on FLX Morning, YMCA CEO Scott Sincerbeaux said he’s happy the Auburn Y can offer this new system to its members.
“There are about 200 YMCAs across the country that have EGYM. The Auburn YMCA is considered a small YMCA, and for us to have this system and be able to provide that to our members is really a true blessing. It’s a considerable investment, but we really felt like our members deserve that new technology in their wellness journey.”
Sincerbeaux added that there is a one-time cost of $35 to cover the cost of the smart band and orientation. Use of the equipment is included with a YMCA membership.
