    The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 30 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures.

Teenager Killed in Herkimer County Snowmobile Accident

A teenager has been identified as the victim in a fatal snowmobile accident that happened Monday night in Herkimer County.

State Police say the accident happened around 7 p.m. near Riggerman Road in the town of Russia. 16-year-old Rykah Lyons, of Remsen, was riding a snowmobile on a secondary trail when he lost control, went off the trail, and hit a tree.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is still ongoing.
