Auburn Man Arrested on Tampering Charge in Ontario County

SHARE NOW

An Auburn man was arrested Tuesday after deputies say he was found impaired behind the wheel of a vehicle.

According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded on February 3 for a report of a man unconscious in the driver’s seat of a vehicle.

Following an investigation, deputies determined that 43-year-old Jason Mccraw was impaired while in control of the vehicle. Authorities also allege that Mccraw tampered with physical evidence during the investigation and was found in possession of a controlled substance.

Mccraw was charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, Tampering with Physical Evidence, and seventh-degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance.

He was taken to the Ontario County Jail to await arraignment.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
