Bridge Repairs on Route 414 Begins Monday

SHARE NOW

The New York State Department of Transportation is warning drivers that a section of State Route 414, also known as Main Street, near the CSX railroad tracks in the Village of Clyde will be reduced to a single lane starting Monday.

Traffic will alternate in both directions and be controlled by temporary signals while crews make repairs to the bridge that carries the roadway over the railroad tracks and the Erie Canal.  DOT officials say the lane reduction will remain in place until further notice. Construction schedules are weather-dependent and may change if conditions require.

Motorists are advised to anticipate delays and consider alternate routes if possible. Drivers are also reminded to slow down and exercise caution in the work zone. Fines are doubled for speeding in construction zones, and multiple violations could result in a driver’s license suspension.
