    IMPACTS
    The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 15 to 25 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. Very cold temperatures can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure.
    ADDITIONAL DETAILS
    Actual air temperature will be below zero each night through Sunday morning. The prolonged cold could cause pipes to freeze or burst. Daytime high temperatures will climb above zero with afternoon highs of 5 to 15 degrees above zero.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Keep pets indoors as much as possible.

West End Arts Campus Highlighting Community Art in Feb

The Cayuga Museum of History & Art and Schweinfurth Art Center, collectively the West End Arts Campus, are shining a lighton community art with new exhibitions next month.

The Schweinfurth Art Center is launching Both Ends of the Rainbow and 3 Lakes Sampler. Both Ends of the Rainbow features works from students in grades Pre-K – 12 in the Cayuga Onondaga BOCES district and Cayuga County seniors 65 and older. 3 Lakes Sampler showcases art from students in BOCES’ Talented and Gifted Program.

At the Cayuga Museum, the Community Canvas exhibition will feature works from nine young artists from Cayuga County, highlighting creative voices in the county. The artists included in the exhibition are Carter Bashta, Elizabeth Diego, Kaitlyn Diego, Sydney Fischer, Alice Loran, Emily Sbelgio, Alexia Sherwood, Travous VanFleet, and Edward Vivenzio.

Both Ends of the Rainbow and 3 Lakes Sampler will open with a reception for students and their families from 12:00-5:00p on Sunday. Community Canvas will open on Wednesday; an opening reception will be held on Friday from 5:00-7:30p.

Both the museum and the art center will offer free admission for the duration of the exhibitions, which run through March 14.
