The Cayuga Museum of History & Art, Auburn’s longest-running cultural institution, will reopen to the public with all-new exhibits on Wednesday, February 4, marking its 90th year of operation. Visitors can explore local history, art, and scientific innovation in conjunction with the national celebration of the United States’ 250th anniversary.
Thanks to sponsorship from the Technology Association of Central New York (TACNY), admission to the museum and Case Research Laboratory will be free from Feb. 4 through Mar. 14.
New exhibits opening this season include:

Community Canvas (Feb. 4 – Mar. 14, 2026): Features artwork from nine emerging Cayuga County artists, ages 18–30.

Revolutionary: Cayuga County’s Fight for Equality (Feb. 4 – May 16, 2026): Highlights the role of local individuals and movements in shaping the nation’s ongoing struggle for equality.

The Reel American West (Feb. 4, 2026 – Jan. 2, 2027): Examines the history and impact of the iconic Western film genre and the stories it tells about American identity.

Through the Decades: 90 Years of Collecting (Feb. 4, 2026 – Jan. 2, 2027): Showcases rarely displayed collection items to celebrate the museum’s founding in 1936.
