Several candidates running for offices in Cayuga County have received the backing of the Auburn Police Union.
In a statement, the union, Local 195, announced it has endorsed Brittany Grome Antonacci for District Attorney, Christopher Valdina for Cayuga County Court Judge, Christopher Major for Sheriff, and Dr Adam Duckett for County Coroner.
In its decision, the union stated that the endorsements were made after meetings with the candidates and a formal vote.
Local 195 added that it chose these candidates because they have real-world experience and “understand the realities faced by police officers on the street, the importance of accountability within the justice system, and the responsibility owed to victims, families, and the broader community.”
Election Day is November 3.
